<p>Squats &#8211; with heavy weight (MUST have good form)<br />

<p>If you have access to sand (beach / volleyball court / etc) &#8211; squat jumps out of the sand are effective</p>

However, as time progressed people started to perform exercises and drills that helped them increase strength, fitness levels and power which lead to them being a new generation of competition. To keep up with this everyone had to start performing drills and exercises if they wanted to prevent themselves from falling behind. One of the most important strokes in tennis is the serve and one of the main things you will want to do is undergo tennis serve exercises to increase the power in your serve so it becomes unstoppable!</p>
<p>The first thing you want to focus on is your wrists. The wrists are a vital part of the tennis serve and many people (especially beginners) completely overlook this but if you have weak wrists then you are going to end up having a weak serve. The simplest and most effective way to improve your wrist strength is with wrist grips which can be used anywhere and whenever you have any free time. By using these a couple times a day you will start to realise that you will start gaining more power into your serve.</p>
<p>The next thing you can do is to target the arms. These are the most obvious points to increase the power of the serve but you don&#8217;t want to just do any arm workouts. There are specific exercises which are targeted to specific parts of the arm that are included in the serve; shoulder, tricep, bicep, trap etc.</p>

<p>If you need to jump higher than you are now, you need to get stronger legs. The larger muscles of the legs like the quadriceps are the predominant force that will get you higher off the ground. To get those muscles stronger you have to lift heavy weights mainly with squats and dead lifts. I am not going to give you any routines to follow, you can find that all over the web, but I will tell you what the proper form should be; you can avoid injury by following correct form and technique.</p>
<p>The best would be the basic squat. It will demand a lot of you to move heavy weight not only in your legs but your whole body. The act of controlling the heavy weight will bring other muscle groups into play.</p>
<p>Correct form for the squat is very important. Keep in mind that you should keep your weight on your heals. Try to keep your knees over your toes while moving up and down. </p>
<p>Do not let your legs wobble inward, they must stay out and over the toes. When exercising the squat, keep the upper body erect and the chest out. Do not let your back round out during the lowering or lifting stage to avoid injury, keep good form. You should practice the exercise without any heavy weight to get used to doing the squat correctly.</p>
<p>The deadlift is a very underrated movement. Like the squat, this exercise will involve the whole body and will give some great benefits in strength. The deadlift is simply picking the weighted barbell off the floor, but you must use proper technique to avoid injury and get the most benefit from it. Proper foot stance is feet slightly wider than shoulders. Bar should be close to your shins and grip wide enough to clear your legs. Grip the bar more with your fingers than in your palm. </p>
<p>Like the squat you do not want to round the back so you avoid injury. Do not jerk the barbell up, pull it in a smooth, steady movement. Lift with your legs, act like you are trying to drive your legs through the floor. After the barbell clears the knees, you want to push your hips and chest forward and pull your shoulders back, you will lock your legs as you do this.</p>
<p>If you are new to these exercises, do not use too heavy of a weight until you have good technique. Proper technique is more important than just moving heavy weights. Try these to build strength in you legs and you will see great benefits as you go into your jump training routines.</p>

Many people think it is all about getting maximum spring in the lower body, but that is entirely wrong. You have to use the entire body if you want to train yourself how to jump higher and with more power.</p>
<p>Professional athletes master their powerful jumps because they have experts coaching them to use all parts of their body to maximum benefit. They gain in skill very fast because they have access to training camps and expert trainers to which most people will never have access. Fortunately, that doesn&#8217;t mean you have to give up your desire to master how to increase <a href="http://bestverticaljump.org/jumpmanual" class="pretty-link-keyword" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">vertical jump</a>. You can start vertical jump training right in your own backyard with a bit of commitment and the right strategies.</p>

<p>When you&#8217;re passionately searching for the solution to how to increase a vertical jump, you may find that you&#8217;re not getting the results you were aiming for. It may be a fitness and conditioning issue, however there are some common mistakes that are made during training that may be stopping you from reaching your goal.</p>
<p>One of the major mistakes players make is that they don&#8217;t realize that you can work out too much. Strange but true &#8211; take a look at the evidence. When you work out, you begin to break down the muscles in your body. Since you aren&#8217;t made from an indestructible source, you must allow your body the chance to heal and rebuild as it strengthens. You should not be working out more than five times a week, including your weights routine and time on the court. Anything more than this and you aren&#8217;t making progress, instead you are on the verge of over-training and heading for a burn-out.</p>
<p>Something that also proves to be a problem is that most people do not use all their muscles that are designed to help increase a <a href="http://bestverticaljump.org/jumpmanual" class="pretty-link-keyword" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">vertical leap</a>. </p>
<p>Many people think that you are only using a couple of muscles. In reality you&#8217;re going to be working your butt, quads, calf muscles along with toes and ankles too. <p>Remember that if you&#8217;re serious about how to increase your vertical leap you need to build your muscles as well as avoid over working them. Practicing your jumping and focusing on results will help you to avoid the major problems that people run into when they are working on jumping higher.</p>

<p>Would you like to double your vertical leap? A vertical jump is a mixture of raw power, agility, grace and speed. Besides being a great way to increase your speed and agility, the vertical leap is also used as a baseline test to compare improvements during strength and conditioning workout regimens. Vertical jumping is also a common training technique used in research for the evaluation of lower extremity performance.</p>
<p>Vertical leap is the measurement of a player&#8217;s jump from a standing position. For athletes, the vertical jump is a true test of raw physical strength. It is widely used as a field-test of performance measuring, particularly in sports like soccer. Besides being the primary technique to measure explosive power, the vertical leap is also a true measure of athletic ability.</p>
<p>What are Effective Ways to Improve Your Vertical Jump?</p>
<p>Athletically speaking, the vertical leap is when someone jumps straight into the air as high as they can. An individual&#8217;s vertical jump height can be improved by training with lower body strength exercises and Olympic lifts. Each individual is different because the body reacts differently based on the type of training. But after a few extensive workouts, the body will start to take shape and soreness will no longer be an issue.</p>
<p>A proper training routine will create a muscle imbalance which has caused injuries for many people. A significant volume of training can improve muscle strength and endurance in people of any age or gender. This means that even you can double your vertical leap.</p>

I know that there are some places on the internet that have good tips, but there are just as many scams as anything else. I know about jumping rope and plyometrics, but what are some other things I could do? Thanks in advance!<br />
